Keeping score in Odin, all the way to 15
At the end of each round, you type how many cards everyone has left in hand: Teamzy adds up the totals, ranks from lowest to highest and ends the match as soon as someone reaches 15.

Odin in 30 seconds
Odin is a card game by Gary Kim, Hope S. Hwang and Yohan Goh, illustrated by Crocotame and published by Helvetiq, for 2 to 6 players. Everyone gets 9 cards, numbered 1 to 9 in 6 colors, and tries to get rid of them first. On your turn, you play one or more cards of the same value or the same color, stronger than the ones in the middle of the table, then take back one of the cards that were there, or you pass. The round ends as soon as someone empties their hand, and everyone scores 1 point per card they still hold. You keep playing rounds until a player reaches 15 points: the lowest total wins.
What each card is worth
At the end of the round, each card left in your hand is worth 1 point, whatever its number or color. Whoever emptied their hand scores 0. The lower your total, the better: everyone adds their points to those of the previous rounds, and the match stops as soon as one of them reaches or passes 15. For a shorter match, aim for 10; for a longer one, 20 or more.
The points of a round
| What counts | Points |
|---|---|
| Each card left in your hand | 1 |
| Whoever emptied their hand | 0 |
| Shorter or longer match | end at 10 or 20 |
| Same total at the end | tie |
A round counted
Round 5 of the example. Nathan leads a turn with his last two cards, two 3s, and plays them both at once (group start): he empties his hand and scores 0. The other three count the cards they have left.
| Player | Cards in hand | Points |
|---|---|---|
| Emma | 1 | 1 |
| Lucas | 3 | 3 |
| Chloé | 4 | 4 |
| Nathan | hand emptied | 0 |
The points are the cards left in hand: Emma types 1, Lucas 3, Chloé 4 and Nathan 0 in Teamzy.
The sheet of the example

| 2 | 4 | 0 | 2 | 6 |
| 3 | 2 | 1 | 0 | 3 |
| 4 | 5 | 2 | 4 | 0 |
| 5 | 1 | 3 | 4 | 0 |
| Total | 12 | 9 | 15 | 11 |
A match in five rounds, up to 15
Emma, Lucas, Chloé and Nathan play four-handed, over several rounds, with an end at 15.
- 1Round 1: Emma empties her hand first and scores 0, Lucas keeps 3 cards, Chloé 5 and Nathan 2. Emma takes the lead.
- 2Round 2: Emma keeps 4 cards, Lucas 0, Chloé 2 and Nathan 6. The totals become Emma 4, Lucas 3, Chloé 7 and Nathan 8.
- 3Round 3: Emma 2, Lucas 1, Chloé 0 and Nathan 3. The totals become Emma 6, Lucas 4, Chloé 7 and Nathan 11.
- 4Round 4: Emma 5, Lucas 2, Chloé 4 and Nathan 0. The totals become 11 for Emma, 6 for Lucas, 11 for Chloé and 11 for Nathan.
- 5Round 5: Emma leads a turn with a 4, Lucas plays a 6, Chloé passes and Nathan answers with an 8, then takes back the 6. A little later, Nathan leads a turn with only two 3s left: same value, he plays them both at once and the round ends. Emma keeps 1 card, Lucas 3 and Chloé 4. The totals become Emma 12, Lucas 9, Nathan 11 and Chloé 15.
- 6Chloé reaches 15: the match ends at the end of that round, and the lowest total wins.
Lucas wins with 9 points, ahead of Nathan (11), Emma (12) and Chloé (15).
In Teamzy, at the end of each round you type the number of cards everyone has left in hand: 0 for whoever emptied their hand. The app adds up the totals, ranks from lowest to highest and ends the match as soon as someone reaches 15.

The questions that come up at the table
At the end of each round, you score 1 point per card left in your hand, and 0 if you emptied your hand. You add these points up from one round to the next: the match ends as soon as a player reaches or passes 15 points, and whoever has the fewest points wins.
Odin rules, on the game page at Helvetiq (PDF)In two cases. Either a player plays their last card or cards and empties their hand: they do not take a card back from the middle and the round stops at once. Or a player who leads a turn has only cards of the same value or the same color left: they may play them all at once and end the round. Passing does not end the round: if everyone passes except one player, only the turn ends, and that player leads the next one.
The rules suggest 15 points for a first game. After that, you can take off 5 points for a short match (10) or add some for a long one (20 or more), or even play a single round. Reaching the limit does not win: the lowest total does, like Lucas in the example. In Teamzy, the objective of 15 can be changed in the game settings.
If several players share the lowest total at the end of the match, the rules say to share the victory. Teamzy then shows a tie.
At the start of the match, the first player is chosen at random. For each new round, all the cards are shuffled again, everyone is dealt 9, and the player to the left of whoever led the previous round starts. Teamzy has no dealer to pick for Odin: there is nothing to set.
The game has 54 cards, numbered 1 to 9 in 6 colors, and is played by 2 to 6 players, in about 15 minutes. With two players, the rules suggest removing 2 colors for a quicker, more intense game: the scoring does not change.
At the end of each round, count the cards left in hand at your table, then type that number in each name's box (0 for whoever emptied their hand). Teamzy does not see the cards: it adds up the points of each round, ranks from lowest to highest and keeps the history of your matches.
