Keep score at foosball, set after set
At the end of each set, you type the score: Teamzy checks that the set is really over, counts the sets won and ends the match as soon as a team has won 2. Prefer a match to 10 goals? The score is kept live, goal after goal. Before you play, the app can also build balanced teams from everyone's level.

Foosball in 30 seconds
Foosball, or table football, is played one against one or two against two around a table, with rods of figures that you slide and spin to send the ball into the opposing goal. A goal is worth one point, whichever rod scored it, and it counts once the ball has crossed the line completely, even if it comes back out. In Teamzy you keep score two ways: to 10 goals, where the first team to reach 10 wins, or in sets of 5 goals, best of 3, where the first team to win 2 sets takes the match.
What each goal is worth
A goal is worth one point. In sets of 5 goals, the set ends as soon as a team reaches 5: 5-4 ends it, with no lead needed. Then you count the sets won: best of 3 sets, you need 2 to win the match. To 10 goals there are no sets: the first team to 10 goals wins.
The points of the match
| What counts | Points |
|---|---|
| Each goal | 1 |
| A set | 5 goals |
The score sheet of the example
The three sets of the match told below: the score of each set, then the sets won by the Eagles and the Tigers. The set won is in color. The two teams are level at one set each before the last one, which the Eagles win.
| Set | The Eagles | The Tigers | Sets won |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 5 | 3 | 1-0 |
| 2 | 3 | 5 | 1-1 |
| 3 | 5 | 4 | 2-1 |
| Goals scored | 13 | 12 |
A match in sets of 5 goals
Lucas and Hugo (the Eagles) play Emma and Léa (the Tigers) in doubles, in sets of 5 goals, best of 3: the first team to win 2 sets takes the match.
- 1Set 1: the Eagles reach 5 goals while the Tigers have 3. The set ends there: 5-3 to the Eagles.
- 2Set 2: the Tigers hit back and win 5-3. One set each, so everything rides on the third.
- 3Set 3: the two teams stay close. The Eagles reach 5 goals while the Tigers have 4: 5-4 is enough, no lead is required, the set is over.
- 4The Eagles have won 2 sets to 1: the match is over.
The Eagles win the match 2 sets to 1, with 13 goals scored against 12 for the Tigers over the three sets.
In Teamzy, you type each team's score at the end of the set, 5 and 3 for the first. If the score does not end the set (4-3, for example), the app tells you and does not save it. It counts the sets won and ends the match as soon as the Eagles win their second set. A set saved by mistake can be fixed from the list of sets.

The questions that come up at the table
One point per goal. The game is then played to a number of goals, or in sets of a few goals whose winners you count. The table and the example above show a whole match.
The official ITSF rules, Standard Matchplay Rules 2024Yes. The goal is scored as soon as the ball has crossed the line completely: if it comes back out afterwards, the point stands. In Teamzy, you simply type each team's number of goals.
At a bar table, people often play to 10 goals, but nothing is universal: the ITSF rules speak of a number of games to win the match, each played to a points target, without giving a figure in their text. In Teamzy, you choose between a match to 10 goals, with the live score, and sets of 5 goals, best of 3, where you type the score of each set.
No. In Teamzy, the set is played to 5 goals, and 5-4 is enough. The ITSF rules do not mention any minimum lead.
The team that has just conceded the goal puts the ball back into play with a kick-off, from the 5-rod. Teamzy does not track the kick-off: you only type the score.
In the ITSF rules, after the first game, either team can ask to change sides of the table; if they do, they change again after every game. Teamzy does not note the sides: you type the score of the set, nothing more.
In Teamzy, pick foosball, tick the four players and tap “Balanced by level”: the app splits them into two teams with levels as close as possible. Everyone has a level from 1 to 5 stars for each game, kept from one match to the next. Not convinced? Reshuffle with one tap. The balanced draw is part of Premium; without Premium, teams are drawn at random.
