Keeping score in Wingspan, from the birds to the tucked cards
Type everyone's birds, bonus cards, round goals, eggs, cached food and tucked cards, just like on the score pad. Teamzy adds it all up. A tie? The unused food, on its own line, picks the winner.

Wingspan in 30 seconds
Wingspan is a board game by Elizabeth Hargrave, published by Stonemaier Games, where 1 to 5 players attract birds to their wildlife preserve. On your turn, you play a bird in the forest, grassland or wetland, or activate one of those rows to gain food, lay eggs or draw cards. The match lasts 4 rounds, with one turn fewer each round: 8, 7, 6, then 5. Each round ends on a goal that scores points; after round 4, everything is counted on the score pad.
What scores points at the end
Everything is counted after round 4, on six lines just like the score pad: the points printed on each of your birds, from 0 to 9, your completed bonus cards, the end-of-round goal points marked on the goal board, then 1 point per egg on a bird, per food token cached on a card and per card tucked under a bird. On a tie, the most unused food wins.
The points, line by line
| What counts | Points |
|---|---|
| Bird played | what it says |
| Completed bonus card | what it says |
| End-of-round goal | per the goal board |
| Egg | 1 |
| Food cached on a bird | 1 |
| Card tucked under a bird | 1 |
| End of the match | After round 4 |
| Tie | the unused food |
The end-of-round goals, green side
On the green side of the board, each goal ranks the players and scores more points from round to round. You need at least 1 of the targeted item to score, and 4th place scores nothing. In round 2, Hugo and Léa tie for 1st place: they share 5 + 2 points, 3 each, and Emma, in 3rd, scores 1 point. Highlighted, Emma's place in each round: 15 points in all, what she types on the Round goals line.
| 1st place | 2nd place | 3rd place | Emma | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Round 1 | 4 | 1 | 0 | 1st place: 4 |
| Round 2 | 5 | 2 | 1 | 3rd place: 1 |
| Round 3 | 6 | 3 | 2 | 2nd place: 3 |
| Round 4 | 7 | 4 | 3 | 1st place: 7 |

The score sheet to print
A Wingspan score sheet on US Letter, for 1 to 5 players: one line per category like on the score pad, a free line for the nectar of the Oceania expansion, the total, and a line for the unused food on a tie. At the bottom, the goal points of each round as a reminder. Print it for your next match, or let Teamzy keep score.

Emma, Hugo, Léa and Lucas play a four-player match, with the green side of the goal board. Léa went for big birds worth lots of points and for her bonus cards. Hugo lays eggs every round, Lucas tucks cards under his birds, and Emma aims for the goals.
- 1End of round 4: Emma takes 1st place on the last goal, 7 points. Over the match, her goals bring her 15 points (4, 1, 3 and 7). Lucas has 9, Hugo 8, Léa 5.
- 2The cards are counted first. Léa has 47 bird points with only 11 birds, and her bonus cards add 10: she leads with 57. Hugo has 52, Emma 49, Lucas 41, but with 15 birds, a full mat.
- 3Then the goals and the eggs. Hugo has 22 eggs on his birds, Emma 18: both move up to 82. Léa, with 12 eggs, only has 74, Lucas 65.
- 4Last come the cached food and the tucked cards. Emma has 4 tokens on her cards, Hugo 4 tucked cards: 86 each. Léa adds 6 tokens and 3 cards, 83. Lucas adds 2 tokens and 11 tucked cards, 78. A tie at the top: everyone counts the food left in their supply. Emma has 3 tokens, Hugo 1.
Emma wins with 86 points. Hugo is level on points but has 2 fewer food tokens; Léa follows with 83, Lucas with 78. Léa led on the cards: the goals and the eggs made the difference.
In Teamzy, you type on each line what you count at the end, just like on the score pad. On Birds, the total of the points printed on your birds, 42 for Emma; on Bonus cards, the points of your completed cards, 7; on Round goals, the sum of the points scored over the four rounds, read on the goal board, 15. On Eggs, Cached food and Tucked cards, type how many you have, 1 point each: 18, 4 and 0 for Emma. The food tokens left in your supply go on the Unused food line, below the total: it is not added to the points and picks Emma on the tie. The app keeps the match in the history.

The questions that come up at the table
The match ends at the end of round 4. Each player then adds up, line by line like on the score pad: the points printed on their birds, their bonus cards, the end-of-round goal points, then 1 point per egg on a bird, per food token cached on a card and per card tucked under a bird. The highest total wins. In Teamzy, the score sheet has a line for each of these, and the total adds itself up.
The Wingspan rules on the Stonemaier Games websiteIt depends on the side of the board. On the green side, the default, players are ranked: 1st, 2nd and 3rd place are worth 4, 1 and 0 points in round 1, 5, 2 and 1 in round 2, 6, 3 and 2 in round 3, 7, 4 and 3 in round 4. 4th place and below score nothing. On the blue side, everyone scores 1 point per targeted item, 5 at most. Either way, you need at least 1 item to score. In Teamzy, type the sum of your four rounds on the Round goals line.
On the green side, tied players all take the same place, and the next place is not awarded. They add the points of the place they share and the following ones, then split them, rounded down. In round 2, two players tied for 1st place share 5 + 2 points: 3 each. The next player takes 3rd place and 1 point. On the blue side, a tie changes nothing: everyone counts their own items.
Everyone starts with one bonus card, kept from 2 dealt at random, and some birds let you draw more during the match. They all score at the end: each card says what it is worth, often based on how many birds meet its condition. A card whose condition is not met scores nothing. In Teamzy, add up the points of all your bonus cards on the Bonus cards line.
Only the food cached on a bird: a bird whose power keeps food on its card is worth 1 point per token on it. The food left in your supply, in front of you, scores nothing, but it breaks a tie. In Teamzy, the tokens on your cards go on the Cached food line, those in your supply on the Unused food line.
On a tie in points, the player with the most unused food tokens in their supply wins. If the food is tied too, the players share the victory. In Teamzy, type each player's tokens on the Unused food line, below the total: it is not added to the points and only counts on a tie.
Yes, line for line and in the same order: Birds, Bonus cards, Round goals, then the three 1-point lines, Eggs, Cached food and Tucked cards. It only adds the Unused food line, to break a tie without counting the tokens again.
The European expansion adds birds, bonus cards and goals, but no new line to count. The Oceania expansion adds nectar: at the end, in each habitat, the player who spent the most nectar there scores 5 points and the second 2 points, with at least 1 token needed to score, and ties are split as for the goals. Asia can also be played as a duet, with its own map and points, and lets 6 or 7 play together with the base game. Teamzy counts the base game: for the nectar, once Wingspan is in your games, open it in Teamzy before the match, tap "Add a category", name it Nectar and set it to "Typed". At the end, type each player's nectar points on that line.
